Yvonne BEHNKE
COURSE AND ARTISTIC APPROACH
Yvonne Behnke was born in 1967 in Frankfurt, Germany. After a diploma in graphic design, she chose the freedom of personal creation. From his first faces to the organic abstraction of today, the artist has pursued only one goal, that of painting. Attracted by it more than by the subject, it is above all pictorial research that drives her. The artist does not dig into books. It proceeds empirically. Her objective is not to invent, but simply to be entirely in what she does: not to reproduce the gestures of others, simply to forge her own and over the years a unique technique using natural elements (gravity , breath and heat) and over a long period of time.
Yvonne Behnke proceeds by intuition and without premeditation. His pictorial technique, like his painting, unfolds over a succession of experiences. Forms are born from practice and vice versa. Spontaneous gestures can forever upset the subject while the movement of matter must constantly lead to thought. The canvas is a field of research which does not focus on the representation of things, but on their depth.
